The rusty-collared seedeater (Sporophila collaris) is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family, formerly placed in the related Emberizidae.

It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, swamps, and heavily degraded former forest. source
